leadership Skills Goals chart to fill in at end of semester 1
Your assessment for the leadership course will be based on how well you fill out this chart in semester 1 to plan for your leadership growth journey and then how you fulfill your personal goals by the end of the year. You are aiming for "goldilocks goals" --not too easy and not too hard but just right for you and your personal development in leadership.
If you have any questions about filling out this chart make sure to ask! Please download the document, fill it out and then upload it to the appropriate location on the google form that will be emailed to you. This is a requirement for the course. Students will receive an incomplete on their semester 1 report card until this is fulfilled. |

S (specific)
Example for Activity Goal: My goal is to plan activities to raise at least $300 for Free the Children Foundation community in need in order to achieve our WE DAY commitment. I plan to start with a movie after school for a toonie followed by other ideas until my goal is met.
Example for Leadership Skill Development Goal: My goal is to work on my leadership skill of commitment: It is important for leaders to follow through with what they agree to do. You should be willing to put in the extra hours to complete what is needed; others will see this commitment and follow your example. Similarly, when you promise a reward, you should always follow through. A leader cannot expect team members to commit to their job and their tasks if he or she cannot do the same.
M (measurable)
My goal is to earn $300
My commitment will be measurable when I stick with this project until $300 is earned even if I have to keep coming up with new ideas.
A (attainable)
*goldilocks rule
I believe that the goal of raising $300 is not too hard but not too easy and will be enough money to make a difference
This amount would allow us to purchase 6 goats for example

I have not done too many leadership activities so far so I think that this goal will stretch me to stick with something and get the help I need from team mates to do so. If I earn the $300 really easily I will increase my goal incrementally to work on the challenge.
R (relevant)
This goal is relevant to our Open 4 Change Pillar and helping others globally
This goal is relevant to my personal leadership development. If I cannot commit to finishing something I start I will not make a very good leader. I will be a positive role model to others by doing this.
T (time bound)
This money will be raised by May 31, 2018
I will show that I can commit to what needs to be done by the time my goal money is raised and I have given something to Free the Children Foundation to support communities like goats.
